Safety tips
Plan a good day. Look out for yourself and your crew.

Meet somewhere public
Start at a busy base lodge, café, or another public meeting point. Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to return. Keep your own way home and leave a meetup that feels uncomfortable.
Agree on the plan
Discuss ability, terrain, pace, meeting time, and how to reconnect if you separate. Profiles and skill levels are self-reported, not verified qualifications. Stay within your ability and do not rely on a new riding partner as your guide or instructor.
Use current, local information
Check the resort’s current conditions, weather, hours, and closures. Follow signs and patrol instructions. Snow Buddies maps and routes may be incomplete or out of date and do not show every hazard. A line on a map does not mean a route is open or safe. The app is not a backcountry or avalanche safety tool.
Prepare for the day
Bring appropriate equipment and clothing, keep your phone charged, and know how to contact ski patrol. Follow the mountain’s responsibility code. Avoid riding while impaired and take a break when conditions or fatigue make continuing unsafe.
Protect your information
Keep passwords, verification codes, financial details, and home addresses private. Be cautious with payment requests and offers that seem too good to be true. You control map visibility in Settings; other members see your mountain or general area, not an exact position.
If something goes wrong
For immediate danger or an injury, contact ski patrol or local emergency services. Do not wait for an in-app reply or report review. Report concerning behavior in the app, block a member if needed, and visit Support for account help. Snow Buddies does not monitor meetups or provide emergency response.
